A Morning of Mindfulness: meditations for relaxation and calm

A Morning of Mindfulness is a gentle mini-retreat to leave you feeling rested and restored, able to focus more easily on the tasks that need doing, and reminded of your own capacity for self-care and healing. 


Participants from previous morning retreats have described them as “exactly what I needed”, “a chance to unwind and connect with myself, something I have not done for a long time”, and “a perfect reminder that I can use my attention to look after myself”.

Who is this for?  This short, secular retreat is suitable for everyone. It’s perfect for beginners to meditation, for those who want to be reminded of or return to their practice, and for advanced practitioners who’d like to meditate in a group.


What will we be doing?  We’ll be practicing a range of brief meditations you can take into the home or workplace. The practices can all be adapted to suit individuals according to how long they can sit for, any pain they might be experiencing, or any stressful difficulties they have. And no-one needs to get into weird or uncomfortable postures: Self-care is essential, and whilst everyone is encouraged to venture beyond their comfort zone, participants are asked to place their health and wellbeing ahead of anything else.  The meditations will be guided, and there will be time for reflection and optional discussion. 


What do I need to bring?  You might want to bring a yoga mat or towel to lie on, any meditation equipment you might have, and a bottle of water.  Tea and coffee will be provided.


Who’s leading this?  To add to the bio below – I’ve been a mindfulness trainer since 2006 when I began teaching the world-reknown Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy eight-week courses in London. But most importantly, I know what it’s like to feel driven and not want to stop; to feel caught up in stress and tension and think I don’t have the time for such simple things as watching my breath. And I also know that mindfulness has been the most helpful companion I’ve had over the last seventeen years as I’ve navigated the stuff of life.

You may cancel and receive a refund up to seven days before the workshop. If, after this time you’re not able to attend, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else.
