Morning of Mindfulness: healthier and happier relationships
1 April, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Much as we’d love to change other people sometimes, we can’t – but we can choose to relate to them more skillfully. This morning offers the opportunity to explore how we might do that, and what might be possible if we approach this complex part of life through the lens of mindful awareness.
Through guided meditations and discussion we will look at:
- How to approach difficult people and tricky conversations with more clarity, steadiness and openness
- How to acknowledge your own needs, and practice assertive, kind (and sometimes fierce) compassion – thereby creating the boundaries necessary to bring you closer to others
- How to practice extending goodwill towards yourself and others, and experience the cascade of physical, mental, emotional and interpersonal benefits which an attitude of befriending brings
- How to shift attention between yourself and others during interactions – thus becoming a better listener to friends, family and colleagues
- How to recognize the urge (especially when under stress) to react or over-react with irritation; to pause; and to choose a wiser response that brings a greater sense of possibility and choice.
This is a relaxed morning of traditional and new secular mindfulness practices. It’s suitable for all levels of experience.
You will be sent further details such as what to bring, etc., two days beforehand, but if in the meantime you have any questions, please feel free to email me at hello@cathgrey.com. I look forward to connecting with you!
I lead mindfulness courses, workshops and retreats for groups on the NSW mid-north coast (Coffs Harbour & Bellingen area), and sometimes further afield.
